Winery Review: Rooty, spicy and baked on the nose, with aromas that lean towards raisin. The palate is more gritty and acidic, with raisin, cola and spic flavors. Darkens up on the finish, which long and peppery, with adequate juiciness and a final note of tomato.
My Review: I don't think I would ever purchase this wine. It has a little too much "punch" for my palate. It has an acidic end to it that stays on your palate after swallowing which I do not care for. However, it did have a very pleasant aroma. I thought it smelled like pears although it was not a fruity tasting wine.
I did not try this with food. Recommended to pair with a soft cheese.
