Winery Review: Superb
dark garnet color with a few reflections of dark orange. Intense nose
of ripe fruits, spices, and roasted coffee. The palate is rounded and
full, with silky matured tannins and hints of vanilla. This wine is rich
and powerful with layers of tannins.
My Review: To be blunt I felt this wine had a terrible aroma. It was very powerful and almost smelled like someone's bad body odor to me. After letting the initial shock of the nose settle I seemed to be able to detect hints of banana, cherry and spices. However, I must say it tasted better than it smelled. It almost tasted like a banana runt with a touch of coffee placed in there. It had a spicy, vanilla finish to it.
