Tasting - Wilson Daniels Merlot

Name: Wilson Daniels Merlot
Variety: Merlot
Region: Central Coast, CA
Country: US
Year: 2010
Price: $7.95

Winery Review: Made predominantly from Paso Robles gapes, the wine is full-bodied and silky yet robust, with aromas of black cherry and plum and a palate of blackberry, raspberry and blueberry jam laced with vanilla and toast.

My Review: I did not enjoy this wine at all. It had a strong spicy, cassis, tobacco aroma. I could not seem to find anything in the aroma or palate that resembled a fruit. Although it was not as dry as I expected it was very full-bodied and spicy. After trying several "spicy" wines I do not think that I will enjoy them anytime soon.
