Tasting - Emeri de Bortoli Sparkling Shiraz

Name: Emeri de Bortoli Sparkling Shiraz
Varietal: Shiraz
Region: South East
Country: Australia
Year: N/A
Price: $9.95

Shop Review: A relatively light, fresh style of sparking Shiraz, with berries and hints of chocolate picking up just a touch of sweet vanilla on the finish.

Personal Review: I was looking forward to trying this wine because I have never tried and never actually knew of a particular sparkling red wine. I did not seem to pick up a particular nose simply because all I could smell was alcohol. I felt that I was not going to enjoy the wine because of the initial smell of the nose. After a few more sniffs it seemed to have a berry nose. This wine had a very sweet palate filled with different berries but most prominently were the strawberries. I was not sure if I would enjoy the bubbly affect but it was rather pleasant and added a certain factor to the tasting that other red wines do not have.
